HOW TO FIGHT OFF CHRONIC FATIGUE AND STRESS

Some experts estimate that as many as 10 million Americans are afflicted with chronic fatigue (CF). According to research, chronic fatigue is a stress- related illness which can be caused by long, frustrating hours at work, family pressures, and even by allergies brought on by industrial pollution. Most people who suffer from CF report a persistent, run-down feeling. In order to overcome chronic fatigue, medical experts recommend rest, proper diet, and stress management.

This Cure Works If You Feel Run-Down, Fatigued Or Stressed Out

1) As soon as you are fully awake, get out of bed and get into action. You’ll soon discover that you have more energy when you don’t lie around in bed.

2) Have a good breakfast. It is important that you eat an energizing breakfast, such as whole grain cereal, skim milk, wheat toast, and a piece of fresh fruit.

3) Take a daily vitamin-mineral pill. This should include the RDAs of all major vitamins and minerals. Ask your doctor for his or her recommendation.

4) Get regular exercise. Even moderate exercise, such as walking, will give you more energy.

5) Maintain your ideal weight. Having excess weight may cause you to expend more energy than you should.

6) Reduce your consumption of alcohol. Drinking alcohol at night can interfere with your ability to get a good night’s sleep.

7) Avoid caffeine. Since caffeine is a stimulant, it too can keep you from getting a good night’s rest. Try decaffeinated drinks instead.

8) Get some time alone. You can reduce stress by taking 30 minutes each day to do something that you enjoy doing by yourself. Do some reading or work on a hobby-Explain to your family that you need some private time.

If you follow those suggestions properly and you still feel extremely fatigued, you may be suffering from a more serious problem known as chronic fatigue syndrome-^ also known as “yuppie flu”. Some evidence indicates that a virus may cause CFS, but no one is really certain.

The Centers For Disease Control in Atlanta recently released a list of symptoms t0 help people know whether they have CFS. According to the list, you may have CFS if y0u have experienced chronic fatigue for at least six months and have been treated by a doctor who has ruled out any other problem that might be similar to CFS, such as an acute nonviral infection, depression, hormonal disorder, drug abuse, or poisoning.

Consult your doctor if you suspect that you have CFS. He or she may be able to diagnose your condition and provide treatment by prescribing low doses of an antidepressant drug, such as Sinequan.
